Our school is preparing to give families the option of having students return to school for in-person instruction part-time. Using our state’s guidance on health and safety rules, as well as what we know about how to best teach students, teams are finalizing plans for a safe return to school. We will start with our preschool, kindergarten and first grade students and then add more grade levels to in-person learning soon after. Families may also choose 100% online comprehensive distance learning which will be similar to our current programming.
We will have a community meeting for families to learn more about these options next week on Thursday, January 28 at 5:00 pm. We will share how to choose an option for your student and how the rest of the school year may change for them. This meeting will have information that applies to all grades, preschool through 5th grade. We strongly encourage all families to attend. Here is the Tualatin Elementary Zoom meeting link. A recording will also be sent out the following day in our school newsletter, the Black Bear Bits, for those who are not able to attend the live community meeting. We will also create a Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) resource page based on the feedback we receive and will share it with you following the meeting.
We look forward to seeing you next week!

Helpful tips for iPads
On Tuesday, TTSD held a webinar with an expert trainer from Apple and one of our instructional coaches on how the settings on the iPad can make learning easier for your elementary and/or middle school student.
Participants learned how the iPad can:
Read to you
Type for you
Change English into another language for you
Make the size of words bigger
Spell words for you
Create shortcuts to do things in less time
