First Day of School!

During our orientation sessions, students will have the chance to meet people, tour campus, have some fun, and hear about Creekside from the student perspective!  We will have a special schedule on September 7th.  We will greet everyone at the front door and make sur e you all know where to go.  Students will start in their Advisory class to establish a home base, get their schedule, and check in.

Here’s the school year calendar link (or see attached page).  Here's our daily school schedule for your reference (or see attached page).

Transportation

Creekside students get to school in a variety of ways:

  • Schoolbus

  • Trimet (Creekside students can get a free monthly bus pass at the front office!)

  • Walk, bike, drive, or get a ride

If you need any assistance or information, please call Alyssa at our front office or speak to your Advisor.

Covid-19

I am glad to say that currently we are at the lowest rate of infection since the start of the pandemic.  We will continue to monitor the situation and adjust as needed, but we will start the year without any special restrictions or requirements.  Hand washing is always encouraged, and folks are welcomed to wear a mask if they think it’s a good idea. Please continue to communicate with school when students are sick and definitely let us know if a student has a positive test!

Food

Breakfast and lunch will be available every day through TTSD food service.  We encourage EVERY family to complete the Free & Reduced Lunch Application.  This helps our families AND our school access all kinds of useful resources because the State uses this information to determine our school eligibility.  Even if you don’t plan to use it, we appreciate your enrollment!

Every Wednesday, we have a feast!  We work together as a community to prepare a special meal built around what is in season that our students grow in the garden.  This is a special part of our school, and something to look forward to each week.

School Supplies & Technology

Ninth graders and new students will be issued a chromebook during orientation on September 6th.. Returning students should bring their chromebooks on the first day. CCHS will provide all school supplies, but feel free to bring any of your own favorites! (notebook, pen, backpack, etc.).  There is no shopping list to worry about; we’ve got you covered!

Your Creekside Advisor

As you know, your Creekside Advisor is your main connection with school.  This teacher will come to know you and your student well, help solve problems, answer questions, work on scheduling, help them stay on track, and work towards a good plan for your student for after high school.  If you have any specific questions or concerns, they are a great person to reach out to.  Your Advisor should be giving you a call soon to connect about the year and make sure we’re all ready to go.

Well, let’s do this!  At Creekside, values are what’s most important.  Life gets complicated sometimes and we can’t plan for everything or make a rule to cover every situation.  What we can do is consistently show up for each other with care, kindness, flexibility, listening, and support.  When things get messy, we can work together to make things right.  The Creekside community includes you, and we invite your creativity, critique, and collaboration any time as we endeavor together to make the best school ever–one that nurtures the minds, hearts, and spirits of our students towards courageous hope, compassionate wisdom, and inspired action in their own lives.

In Partnership,

Russ Romas
