• Hello Twality Families!

My name is Nicole White and I am  pleased to serve our community this year as the PSO President for Twality Middle School for the second year.   Whether you know it or not, you are automatically a member of the PSO; there are no dues to join or forms required. You are part of the Twality PSO because your child is lucky enough to go to Twality Middle School! We hope that you will become an active member of the PSO while your child attends Twality Middle School, and that we can make this the best year ever! How can you become an active PSO member?

    • Second, VOLUNTEER If you are new to the district or have not done your background check please go here to complete: https://www.helpcounterweb.com/welcome/apply.php?district=ttsd All parents or grandparents need to have a background check completed before they are allowed to volunteer with the school.  You will be added to our volunteer base and will receive email’s for volunteer opportunities.

    • Third, STAY INFORMED. The email inbox can feel overwhelming, especially at the beginning of the school year, but please take a moment to read the emails that are being sent from the PSO and from the Main Office. Attending PSO meetings is another great way to stay informed. Our PSO has three general meetings a year, each with a different theme and guest speaker. Put these dates in your calendar today- Oct 17, Jan 16, Apr 16 and make plans to join us. We will also have 3 Coffee with the Principal sessions this year, this is your time with the principal. Put these dates on your calendar Sept 18, Nov 20, Feb 19, May 20

    • Finally, BE INVOLVED! You may think your middle school student does not want you at school when volunteer opportunities arise, and you may be right. But I guarantee they need you to be there if you can be. Remember, not all volunteer needs take place during the school day- for example, you can answer the call to bring a dish for a staff meal or join the planning committee for the 8th grade party or auction in March, as those sorts of opportunities can be easier to fit into a busy schedule.

Our fundraising goal is $50.00 per student, per year. There are a variety of ways you can help us meet that goal, from “pain free” fundraising such as Scrip, Box Tops, or starting your Amazon Shopping on our Smile Page to more traditional efforts like our new Jog a Thon, Formal auction and Restaurant Nights. You may wonder what we do with those fundraising dollars. We believe in immediate investment! Our dedicated teachers submit requests for grants from the PSO in the fall for use this school year. Those grants can be used to purchase a variety of things like books, instruments, and equipment, and to pay for field trips or even academic conferences. The requests are varied, but they are all vital, and they benefit every single student at Twality Middle School. We also help fill needs when we see them develop, such as providing additional microwaves for student use during lunch periods. That’s why we do what we do and we’re asking for you to get involved and help our school and students thrive.

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact us! Message us on Facebook, join us for our general meetings or send an email. We look forward to hearing from you!
