Vision
Our vision is to provide every elementary student with an opportunity to create and appreciate art. Just like math and science, Art Literacy is a discipline in which skills are built upon each year and contributes to both knowledge and critical thinking abilities that are essential to preparation for post-high school endeavors.
Mission
Our mission is to have a district-led and parent volunteer program that exposes students to a wide array of artists, cultures, and art mediums. Funding for our program is currently and generously provided by our school PSO/PTOs as well as other donors.
Volunteers Art Literacy is our school’s only structured art program – AND WE NEED YOUR HELP! ALL VOLUNTEERS MUST COMPLETE THE VOLUNTEER APPLICATION Click here for the application
Our program relies on volunteer parents to lead a 1-hour art project in each classroom each month of the school year. If you’d rather just be a helper we need plenty of those too! Monthly training nights are really fun to get creative and meet with other parents at the school. You’ll have a lot of fun!Click Here to contact Christy Blaettler and get involved.
Events and Workshops Throughout the year the District office offers up classes for our parent-teachers that show new art techniques and have fun workshops. If you need to learn or just want a night out, you should take advantage of this free time of learning and creativity! NOTE: District workshops are FREE and open to all volunteers: coordinators and presenters.
All Workshops are held at the TTSD District Office – 6960 SW Sandburg St., Tigard, Conference Room C (downstairs)
