ACT
Explore, PLAN, ACT Summative Assessments
Each year, the Tigard-Tualatin School District makes the ACT and Pre-ACT tests (previously EXPLORE, PLAN and Aspire) available to all students in grades 9 through 11 at no cost to the students.
The ACT is a curriculum-based college admission and placement exam. Virtually all colleges and universities, including the most prestigious, accept ACT scores for admission and scholarship purposes. It is considered a good predictor of success in college. The multiple choice test assesses high school students’ general educational development in the areas of English, mathematics, reading and science, and the ability to complete college-level work. The District also provides the optional writing test.
