Playgrounds
Background on the TTSD Playground Projects
As part of the 2025 bond, TTSD will completely rebuild playgrounds at nine elementary schools. Rutkin and Templeton already have modern playgrounds, and the new designs will be modeled after Templeton.
The inclusive playgrounds will include poured-in-place rubberized surfaces and durable, modern equipment. While some features, such as swings, will be standardized, each school will have opportunities to customize colors and selected features.
Construction at C.F. Tigard, Alberta Rider, Metzger, Deer Creek, and Tualatin is planned for summer 2027. Byrom, Mary Woodward, Durham, and Bridgeport will follow in later years as part of larger school remodeling projects.
Surveys have been shared with the school communities receiving playgrounds in 2027. The remaining four schools will complete surveys once project timelines are established.
