Bond Oversight Committee
On May 20, 2025, Tigard-Tualatin School District voters approved Measure 34-342, a $421.3 million bond proposal to replace Fowler Middle School, renovate four elementary schools, replace and repair failing infrastructure, and update curriculum and technology across the District. With the bond’s passage, the District is establishing a Citizens Bond Oversight Committee of at least seven community (7) members. The District seeks candidates to fill staggered terms of two, three and four years. Committee members are unpaid volunteers.
The committee is designed to include individuals with experience in building design; real estate development; construction; construction financing; public contracting, budgeting and/or auditing. Members must be residents in the District boundaries. TTSD officials, employees, vendors and contractors are prohibited from serving.
The Bond Oversight Committee serves in an advisory role and does not have decision-making authority. Members will review quarterly reports produced by the District each year bond proceeds are being spent to assess general compliance with the purposes set forth in the capital improvement program as approved by voters. The committee will also receive and review copies of bond program performance and financial audits. The committee also has the option to inspect school facilities and grounds related to bond activities when coordinated with and accompanied by District staff, and will inform the public of such actions.
