A message from the superintendent, “Dr. Udo”

As parents, we take a leap of faith every morning in sending our children off to school. After all, this learning environment will shape their minds, mold their character and prepare them for college and career.

I want to thank our community for placing that trust in the Tigard-Tualatin School District, and assure you that our team is dedicated to helping each and every one of our 11,000-plus students reach their potential. Leading this district is a tremendous responsibility, and represents the realization of my own dreams.

Like many of our students, I had to confront some daunting obstacles growing up. But I didn’t climb those hills alone. I enjoyed a strong public education that changed my trajectory, and at TTSD we believe our schools hold that same power to transform young lives for the better.

My school experience motivated me to become a teacher, then a principal, an assistant superintendent and ultimately led me to this post in July 2024 – at one of Oregon’s leading school districts, buoyed by an incredibly dedicated and caring staff.

TTSD schools are on Oregon’s cutting edge in valuing student voice. As superintendent, I am committed to listening to our students and ensuring that our decision-making is centered on creating great outcomes for young people.

I also want to hear from you, our parents and community members. It’s a new day in TTSD, and I look forward to the tomorrows we will celebrate together, watching these students flourish.

In service,
Dr. Iton Udosenata
