On June 2, over 30 educators and family members came together to analyze feedback from over 250 surveys and over 200 in person listening session participants. The themes and values they identified are linked and displayed below.

  1. Safety, meeting basic needs, and learning free from disruptions.
  2. Transparent spending communication, and procedures.
  3. Rigor, differentiation, challenging students, and meeting them where they’re at.
  4. Community and connections between students, teachers, and peers.
  5. Student engagement in learning that is hands-on, play-based, and social, not screen-based.
  6. Enrichment opportunities within and outside of school hours, including arts and athletics.
  7. Accountability for administration, teachers, and students, in terms of academics and attendance.
  8. Inclusive practices that elevate staff, family, and student voices, celebrate differences, and meet a wide range of needs.
