Oregon Statewide Assessment System Update
Assessment Update for Grades 3-8 and 11
Dear Parents,
As you may know, students in grades 3-8 and 11 have been finishing up with the Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) over the past several weeks. The Oregon Department of Education may take up to 4-5 weeks to return scores after a student completes each assessment. We are happy to report that we have begun receiving those scores and are populating them in ParentVue now.
To help you better understand your child's scores, we recommend visiting this website: Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS). Here, you will find information about what the different scores mean and what students are generally able to do in math, ELA, and science based on their level of achievement (Level Descriptors). This can help you understand your child's strengths and areas that need improvement.
We encourage you to take some time to review your child's scores and use them as a tool to support your child's learning. If you have any questions or concerns about the scores or your child's academic progress, please do not hesitate to reach out to the school.
Thank you for your continued support.
Sincerely,
Paul Verstraete
