The Tigard-Tualatin School District’s four-year graduation rate fell slightly last year but remains higher than state averages, according to state data released Thursday.

The report from the Oregon Department of Education shows TTSD’s overall graduation rate is at 86.7% – a drop of less than 1 percentage point from the 2023-24 rate of 87.6%. The state average for 2024-25 was reported at 83%. TTSD graduation rates stand almost exactly where they were in 2017-18, and have varied 1 to 2 percentage points annually since.

TTSD compares favorably with districts that the state defines as sharing similarities. Within its cohort, which includes Portland Public Schools, West Linn-Wilsonville, Springfield, Albany, Bend-La Pine and Eugene, TTSD’s graduation rate ranks second.

Across various subgroups, TTSD’s 2024-25 results varied. For example, four-year graduation rates for Native Hawaiian/Pacific Islanders rose substantially, to 90% last year – up from 77.8% the year before. But graduation rates for students with disabilities fell to 65.7% (from 74.6%). TTSD graduation rates for students with disabilities have varied widely in recent years.

The five-year completer rate, which includes both traditional graduates and those who chose non-traditional paths such as a GED, dropped to 91.0% in 2024-25 from 92.2% the previous year. TTSD’s five-year completer rate stands above the state average of 87.4%.

Dr. Iton Udosenata, TTSD’s superintendent, said the District is seeing promise in improved ninth-grade on-track graduation rates, which tend to predict graduation outcomes. But more work is needed.

“We are always trying to get better,” he said. “Every student counts, and they deserve everything we’ve got to help them graduate. Our success is measured by seeing our students moving on to careers and college with a diploma in hand.”

Tigard High School lifted graduation rates 2.1 percentage points, to 89.1%. Rates fell 2.3 percentage points at Tualatin High, to 90.2%. Four-year graduation rates for the District’s high schools and the state are as follows:

School 2024-2025 2023-2024
Tualatin High School 90.2 92.5
Tigard High School 89.1 87.0
Creekside Community High School 56.9 58.9
Tigard-Tualatin Virtual Academy 60.7 79.0
State of Oregon 83.0 81.8
