Emily Anderson named Principal at Hazelbrook Middle School

Emily Anderson - Hazelbrook Principal

Tigard, Oregon – Emily Anderson will be the new principal at Hazelbrook Middle School, effective Monday, August 25. Amber Fields, the Tigard-Tualatin School District’s (TTSD) director of secondary education, made the announcement Friday, August 22.

Anderson replaces Principal Chris Harvey-Foltz, who is moving out of state due to a family commitment.

“We are thrilled for Emily to step into this role,” Fields said. “She knows Hazelbrook — its students and staff, its culture, and its needs — in a way that is both authentic and deeply rooted in care. The relationships she has built and the trust she’s earned make her well prepared not just to support staff and students, but to lead the school forward with confidence and vision.”

Anderson brings 20 years of experience in education, and 13 years at the middle-school level. She rose from math teacher to instructional coach to dean to associate principal in the Sherwood School District before joining TTSD last year as Hazelbook’s associate principal. She is a graduate of Portland State University, with a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s in education.

“I am truly grateful and excited to step into this new role at Hazelbrook Middle School,” Anderson said. “This past year brought many bright spots and reasons to celebrate, and it is an honor to continue building on that momentum. I look forward to partnering with students, staff, and families as we strengthen a school culture rooted in belonging, a positive climate for all, and a shared commitment to academic excellence.”
