2025-26 athletic fee update

student athletes

TTSD will be returning to the previous practice of charging student athletic fees, starting at $175 per sport. With our District reducing staff to address a budget shortfall of approximately $11 million, it’s necessary to partially offset the cost of athletics through user fees. The changes will take effect for the 2025-26 school year.

We are committed to an equitable process that welcomes all students and ensures participation regardless of family income levels. Fee waivers and reductions will be available upon request.

Accordingly, we are adopting the fee structure outlined below:

* $175 per sport per season

* Family cap of $700

* Payment plan options available

* $75 reduced fee, upon request

* Waived fee, upon request

As part of the online registration process

  • To qualify to try out/participate in a sport, the electronic form will include a question regarding the athletic fee(s).
  • The user will select whether they are requesting a payment plan, waiver (either full or partial), or donating to the sport to cover other athletes.
  • This information is kept confidential by the administrative staff supporting bookkeeping.

Tualatin High School fall athletics registration has already begun

  • Students who have already registered will receive follow-up correspondence once they have been placed on a team to complete the payment registration portion.
  • The user will select whether they intend to pay the fee in full or are requesting a payment plan or waiver (either full or partial).
  • This information is kept confidential by the administrative staff supporting bookkeeping.

We want to emphasize our commitment to ensuring that ALL students are welcome to participate in sports regardless of family finances.
