Welcome to Department of Equity and Inclusion

  • At TTSD, equity work means a school community coming together to critically review the health of our system and the outcome it produces for our students.

We can name, discuss, plan and act together with our community members (staff, students, and families) the barriers that get in the way of ensuring all students are seen, valued, and served so that outcomes are not predictable by any identity marker or circumstance.

Our Equity and Inclusion Department is tasked to facilitate operationalization of our Educational Equity and Racial Justice Policy:

"The district must ensure that all students are guaranteed a comprehensive, rigorous, and inclusive education that empowers them to thrive after they exit high school. This not only benefits students individually, but also strengthens our communities and builds a stronger democracy and society. Despite this commitment, the district’s persistent opportunity gaps between White students and Students of Color remain, producing outcomes that are not representative of the strengths and abilities of students. These outcomes are not acceptable. Efforts have been made to address the inequities, and much work remains to ensure all students have the opportunity to succeed. This work is the responsibility of the school district, its leaders, and all of its employees."

In pursuit of creating an equitable and racially just system, the district commits to the following:

    • Equitable Access to a High-Quality, Well-Rounded Education
    • Equitable Allocation of Resources
    • Empowering Voice
    • Workforce Diversity
    • Professional Development
    • Cultural Competency
    • Accountability
