Update Regarding Potential Threat at Tigard High
-
TTSD Families,
We are communicating to share an update regarding the potential threat of violence to Tigard High School received late last evening. Based on their investigation, school resource officers and local law enforcement have deemed the threat of violence not credible. You can view their statement here. While an issue existed between specific students, there is no verified threat of violence to staff or community.
We want to reiterate that the reason the school was closed was out of an abundance of caution due to the late timing of the Safe Oregon report, and the need to allow time for law enforcement partners to gather information and determine the credibility of the threat.
All THS activities will proceed as scheduled this evening.
This is a reminder for all our families to talk with your students about safety at school and when to report issues of concern. Safe Oregon is a valuable 24/7 anonymous reporting resource.
