District Response to Area Weather and Fire Warning

The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning related to the combination of forecasted high winds and critically dry conditions affecting much of the region from Friday morning until Saturday night. The public is strongly encouraged to refrain from any outdoor activities/recreation that could lead to igniting a flame.
Throughout the district, we will pause any use of power tools and any other equipment that could provide a fire risk outdoors beginning tomorrow morning through the weekend.
In addition to the wind warning, we expect high temperatures this weekend. For information regarding cooling centers in Washington County, please visit their website at this link. If you live outside Washington County, please visit your County’s website for more information relative to your community.

Aviso meteorológico de incendios en el área metropolitanaEl Servicio Meteorológico Nacional ha emitido un Aviso de bandera roja relacionado con la combinación de vientos fuertes previstos y las condiciones críticamente secas que afectan a gran parte de la región desde el viernes por la mañana hasta el sábado por la noche. Se recomienda encarecidamente al público que se abstenga de realizar cualquier actividad/recreación al aire libre que pueda provocar el encendido de llamas.
En todo el distrito, suspenderemos el uso de herramientas eléctricas y cualquier otro equipo que pueda generar un riesgo de incendio al aire libre a partir de mañana por la mañana, hasta el fin de semana.
