  • Picture of Todd Robson Todd Robson – Director of Teaching and Learning 
    Todd has spent his career in service to students, staff and families.  His undergraduate training was targeted to instruction and teaching followed by his graduate studies specifically focused on educational leadership.  His first fifteen years within public education was spent as a teacher and administrator at the elementary and middle school levels within the Beaverton School District.  The past seventeen years, Todd has served in the Tigard-Tualatin School District as principal of Templeton Elementary School for a decade and now, utilizing his experience as a teacher and educational leader as Director of the Teaching and Learning department.  As an educator and leader, Todd has led continual improvement efforts recognized by the state of Oregon in awarding Templeton with the Closing Achievement Gap Award based on eliminating achievement gaps among all student groups over a four year span of time.  He is a leader who promotes and demands educational equity, research driven collaborative processes, clearly articulated professional development using high leverage instructional strategies and development of strong, caring relationships with staff, students and families to ensure community is at the heart of the processes used to educate every student who walks through our school house doors. 

    Picture of Laura Kintz Laura Kintz – Associate Director of Teaching and Learning
    Laura’s dedication to students and families in public education began as an elementary teacher. She taught 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades after graduating from Eastern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education and an Early Childhood Specialization. Laura is committed to equity and inclusion and to all students succeeding in the classroom. She attended Lewis and Clark College and earned a Masters of Arts in Teaching, Language and Literacy Endorsement, and a Principal License as well as a Professional Educator License. Laura served as a Title 1 Reading Coach for five years in Hillsboro before becoming the principal at Alberta Rider Elementary School in the Tigard Tualatin School District. Laura was principal at ARE for six years before moving to Southern California for another six years where she served as a principal and Director of Elementary Education. Laura now is elated to serve as Associate Director of Teaching and Learning back in the Tigard Tualatin School District. She loves to learn new things and assist others to achieve their academic and professional goals. She taught Instructional Leadership courses in a preliminary administrator program in Southern California and continues to teach virtually in an early childhood program to prepare educators to instruct students in California’s Universal Transitional Kindergarten classrooms. 

    Picture of Tim Blackburn Tim Blackburn – Title III Administrator
    Tim Blackburn spent the early years of his career as a high school ESL and bilingual educator in the Bronx, NY. He is a proud alumni of the Peace Corps Fellows Program at Teachers College and International Community High School (ICHS), where he worked and learned with his fabulously talented multilingual students. It was this experience where Tim learned how to design relevant, language-rich lessons for adolescent newcomer multilingual learners. Tim is especially proud of his collaboration with colleagues from ICHS and Bridges to Academic Success to offer support for students who have experienced interrupted formal education. 

    Tim moved to Oregon in 2012. Since then, he has served as a Teacher on Special Assignment in the Oregon Migrant Education Service Center and Education Equity Unit at the Oregon Department of Education. As a Practice Expert at Education Northwest, Tim served as a consultant to schools and school districts across the country. Tim now serves as the Title III Administrator for the Tigard-Tualatin School District.

    Picture of Paul Verstraete Paul Verstraete – District Assessment Coordinator
    Paul Verstraete is the District Assessment Coordinator for the Tigard-Tualatin School District, where he is responsible for overseeing the administration and interpretation of district assessments and providing support and professional development to teachers. He has a strong background in education, with degrees in Educational Technology, Teaching and Curriculum, and Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science from Michigan State University, as well as post-bachelor certificates in Brain Targeted Teaching and Internet Application Development. Prior to his current role, Paul has worked as a teacher, instructional facilitator, and coordinator of absenteeism reduction, and is passionate about using data and assessments to improve student learning and achievement.
