Tigard High School Selects Athletic Director/Assoc. Principal

Tigard High School Names Ryan Taylor Associate Principal/Athletic Director
Tigard, Oregon – Tigard High School (THS) Principal Brian Bailey announced Ryan Taylor will fill the newly created role of associate principal/athletic director beginning July 1, 2022. Taylor will be responsible for all THS athletic and physical education programs and work closely with Principal Bailey and in partnership with the community to build on the history of successes the Tigers have celebrated to date. This position will serve on the THS administrative team.
“Ryan is a dynamic, energetic, and collaborative leader with proven experience in convening community and building successful programs,” said Principal Bailey. “His passion for students, staff, and the greater community, along with his dedication to maximizing opportunities and outcomes for all students makes him an exciting addition to our leadership team at Tigard High.”
Taylor began his career in education at Independence High School, a part of the Glendale Union High School District in Arizona where he served as a physical education teacher and coach, and grew into the role of Chair of the P.E. Department. He served in physical education and coaching roles at Montbello High School in Denver, CO., and currently is the Chair of the Physical Education Department at Regis Jesuit High School in Aurora, CO.
“Visiting the THS campus and meeting the admin team, teachers and coaches, I was struck by how passionate they all are in the pursuit of academic, arts, and sports excellence,” said Taylor. “I am impressed with the collective commitment to equity and excited to engage further in this work and in the broader high school community. My wife is an Oregonian and I am happy to bring her home.”
Ryan holds a BA in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Physical Education K-12 from the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, and a MS in Sport & Exercise Science with an emphasis in sport administration.

La Escuela Preparatoria Tigard nombra a Ryan Taylor Director Asociado/Director de Atletismo
Tigard, Oregón – El Director de la Escuela Preparatoria Tigard (THS), Brian Bailey, anunció que Ryan Taylor ocupará el puesto recientemente creado de director asociado/director de atletismo a partir del 1 de julio de 2022. Taylor será responsable de todos los programas deportivos y de educación física de THS y trabajará en estrecha colaboración con el director Bailey y en asociación con la comunidad para aprovechar la historia de éxitos que los Tigres han celebrado hasta la fecha. Esta posición servirá en el equipo administrativo de THS.

Taylor comenzó su carrera en educación en la Escuela Secundaria de Independence, una parte del Distrito de Escuelas Secundarias Glendale Union en Arizona, donde se desempeñó como maestro y entrenador de educación física, y se convirtió en el cargo de Presidente del Departamento de Educación Física. Se desempeñó en funciones de educación física y entrenamiento en Montbello High School en Denver, CO., y actualmente es el presidente del Departamento de Educación Física en Regis Jesuit High School en Aurora, CO.
"Al visitar el campus de THS y conocer al equipo de administración, a los profesores y a los entrenadores, me sorprendió la pasión con la que todos persiguen la excelencia académica, artística y deportiva", dijo Taylor. Mi esposa es oregoniana y estoy feliz de traerla a casa".
Ryan tiene una licenciatura en Kinesiología con énfasis en Educación Física K-12 de la Universidad del Norte de Colorado, Greeley, y una Maestría en Ciencias del Deporte y el Ejercicio con énfasis en administración deportiva.
