Casey Petrie will be Alberta Rider Elementary’s new Principal
Tigard, Oregon – Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa McCall announced Casey Petrie as Alberta Rider Elementary’s (ARE) new Principal. Petrie will replace Principal Rory Moore beginning July 1, 2022, when Moore transitions to the principal role at Templeton Elementary and the Kalapuya Early Learning Center.
“Casey is an experienced principal known for forming strong relationships with staff, students, families and community members,” said Dr. McCall. “She is a leader whose words will match her actions when it comes to advocacy for all students. Casey understands the complexity of equity work and will make space for all perspectives representing the Alberta Rider community.”
Petrie began her career in education as a teacher with the Beaverton School District. She has spent the last eight years at Chehalem Middle School in the Newberg School District where she served most recently as Principal.
“I am very excited to join the ARE community and advance the work of Principal Moore and his staff,” said Casey. “I have been able to grow as an educational leader through my own modeling of reflective practice, vulnerability, and relationship building through listening. I look forward to building strong relationships and working in partnership with staff and families in support of student success.”
Casey earned her BA in Elementary-Middle School Education from the University of Portland and a MS in Curriculum and Instruction as well as her Administrator Licensure from Portland State University.
