Jim Hiller named Tualatin Elementary School’s next Principal

Tigard, Oregon – Tigard-Tualatin School District (TTSD) Assistant Superintendent Dr. Lisa McCall announced Jim Hiller as the new principal at Tualatin Elementary beginning July 1, 2022. Hiller replaces the current principal, Jamie Kingery, who will assume the principal position for TTSD’s new Art Rutkin Elementary School scheduled to open in the fall of 2023.
“We are very happy to have Jim join our TTSD administrative team,” said Dr. McCall. “He is a proven instructional leader with a commitment to collective success in achieving equitable outcomes for all students. His love for literacy and mentoring teachers positions him well to take Tualatin Elementary to the next level.”
Jim has worked in education for 31 years, with 21 of those years with the Beaverton School District where he is currently the assistant principal at Bonny Slope Elementary School. He has served as a teacher in Arizona, Virginia, and Oregon. He is a mentor-leader contributing to the instructional growth of culturally responsive educators with a strong focus on literacy, TAG, mentorship, and English Language Development (ELD).
“It is my personal and professional honor to join the Tualatin Elementary family,” said Hiller. “This is an amazing opportunity to continue the work of providing all of our students the excellent education they deserve. With all of us working together, we will .”
Jim earned his BA in Elementary Education from Augustana College in Sioux Falls, SD, and a MA in Educational Leadership from Northern Arizona University. He received his Administrator Licensure from Portland State University.

Jim Hiller nombrado el próximo Director de la Escuela Primaria Tualatin
Tigard, Oregón - La Dra. Lisa McCall, Asistente Superintendente del Distrito Escolar Tigard-Tualatin (TTSD), anunció que Jim Hiller será el nuevo director de la Escuela Primaria Tualatin a partir del 1 de julio de 2022. Hiller reemplaza al actual director, Jamie Kingery, quien asumirá el cargo de director de la nueva escuela primaria Art Rutkin de TTSD, cuya apertura está prevista para el otoño de 2023.
"Estamos muy contentos de que Jim se una a nuestro equipo administrativo de TTSD", dijo la Dra. McCall. "Es un comprobado líder de instrucción con un compromiso con el éxito colectivo para lograr resultados equitativos para todos los estudiantes. Su amor por la alfabetización y la tutoría de los maestros lo posicionan bien para llevar a la Primaria Tualatin al siguiente nivel."
Jim ha trabajado en la educación por 31 años, con 21 de esos años con el Distrito Escolar de Beaverton donde actualmente es el asistente del director en la Escuela Primaria Bonny Slope. Ha sido profesor en Arizona, Virginia y Oregón. Es un mentor-líder que contribuye al crecimiento de la instrucción de los educadores culturalmente receptivos con un fuerte enfoque en la alfabetización, TAG, tutoría y Desarrollo del Idioma Inglés (ELD).

Jim obtuvo su licenciatura en Educación Primaria en el Colegio Augustana en Sioux Falls, SD, y una maestría en Liderazgo Educativo de la Universidad del Norte de Arizona. Obtuvo su licencia de administrador en la Universidad Estatal de Portland.
