The "At-A-Glance" state report card provides Oregon Statewide Assessment System (OSAS) performance data, as well as attendance, 9th grade on track, and graduation data from the previous year for the district as a whole as well as each school individually.
Last spring, the Department of Education required states to administer state assessments despite opposition from state officials. Concerns were raised regarding the impacts of the pandemic on student achievement, equitable access to testing, and districts’ ability to meet the required 96% participation rate. With approximately 50% of TTSD’s students remaining in distanced learning through the end of the 2020-2021 school year, scheduling in-person testing and securely administering the assessments to ensure valid and reliable results was challenging.
We believe in the value of assessments and that parents deserve to know how their students are performing. TTSD was one of the Oregon districts to administer the OSAS. The results represented in the 2020-2021 At-A-Glance report for TTSD are reflective of approximately 4% of our student population. Although the data does not present a realistic picture of TTSD or our individual school performance, parents and guardians of the individual students that did participate have received their results.
